'Travel Writing'' has received considerable attention by creators and researchers in recent years. When looking at this kind of theme, we can usually find the travelers individual subjective perception, which describes the objective scene, contains the life experience of exploration, to show self-awareness and spiritual freedom, as well as the taste of life. In this paper, the Hakka writer Jih-Sung Yeh's travel poetry is selected as the object of study. We investigate the five different psychological phenomena, i.e., reproduction, difference, identity, criticism, adjust, in psychological mechanisms symbol of Freud so that the opinions and writing strategies, especially the aesthetics of his works and focus of concern, can be analyzed. In addition, the significance of migration, participation and observation of the author during the journey are also to be investigated as well. Moreover, we can expect that the author is bound to lead to some sorts of thinking and enlightenment when the narrative of scenery has been changed to cultural description. This paper attempts to find out some observations in Jih-Sung Yeh's travel writing poetry, try to have a profound understanding on his writing style, as well as to explore the significance of pluralism between traveling and writing. |
