Flip teaching as a new teaching method, primarily used in classes as many forms of doing exercises, group discussions, questioning, and other meta-cognitive activities. This kind of teaching method is overwhelming for frontline teachers. '' Chinese Phonology and Speech '' classes include two major parts: knowledge of Chinese phonology and oral speaking abilities; these classes are not only for knowledge learning but also have practical values. We spend more time in traditional classes for lower level memorizing and understanding details but have no time to teach higher level application, integration, evaluation and innovation. Flip teaching focuses on interaction in a class to level up higher recognition for learners. The study would like to use flip teaching method to increase learning interest for students and let them use what they have learnt to understand the materials in-depth. The purpose of the study is to explore how flip teaching method will be integrated into Chinese phonology and oral training classes in teacher training courses. The author will first compare research materials for flip teaching, teacher training and then propose a teaching design and teaching model for Chinese phonology and speech classes. Finally, survey opinions from students will be discussed and conclusions will be made. This study found that flip teaching greatly increase students’learning interests, and confidence in learning, and students believe to learn more under such circumstance. The author suggests that using full function teaching platform and a design that connected all classes will be an effective format for flip teaching method in teaching training classes. We hope the results of this article can contribute more to teacher training methods. |
