This essay is based on a practical performance which is exploring the performer how to utilize psychophysical acting in the role Martha of Albert Camus's The misunderstanding in image theatre. There are four parts in this essay. Chapter one researches motivation that explains what the actor work is. Chapter two presents the background of Albert Camus's The misunderstanding, the skills of Phillip Zarrilli's psychophysical acting and the introduction of image theatre. In chapter three, I will examine the process how to utilize Phillip Zarrilli's psychophysical acting in the role of Martha in the performance-Bei Jiu She Contemporary represents Albert Camus's The misunderstanding. In the conclusion, I will discuss a new possibility of acting skills-Phillip Zarrilli's psychophysical acting different from Stanislavski's method acting for a performer to play a role. |
