The movie ''KANO'' has not only described a part of Taiwan's baseball history in Japanese colony but also evoked people's common memories of those days so as to arouse great responses in the nation. The method used in this study is document analysis, collecting a variety of data of academic papers, news reports, and the film's products for the comprehensive discussion of the issues about the history, film, and cultural and creative industry. The purposes of this article are to explore and complete the records of local events and to deepen people's understanding about KANO. Results of this study state some contrary commentaries which may provide references of different aspects for the creators to interpret the history from various viewpoints. The baseball skills and historic factors shown in KANO make it worth seeing. Besides the film propaganda, many organizations have been continuously holding KANO's cultural festivals so that the development of related merchandise turns out to be a successful case of ''Sport Cultural and Creative Products''. Furthermore, the value of humanism should be taken into account in the field of physical education. Connecting historical culture and experiential industry, sports, despite requiring professional techniques, can be a kind of popular art to be embraced by people, as well. |
