In the contemporary Confucian academic circle, how to understand the similarities and differences between the thoughts of Zhu Zi and those of Lu Xiangshan and how to define the nature of Zhu Zi's thoughts remain controversial. In recent years, I have given some personal thoughts on Zhu Zi's philosophy and has reflected on Mr. Mou Zongsan's interpretation of Zhu Zi, which has sparked many discussions. Professor Lee Shui Chuen has also recently published an article, suggesting views that are different from mine. This article responds to some of his arguments from three aspects: philosophical speculation, natural dialectics, and the motivation of moral practice. |
