Due to the changes in the cognitive framework of text perception, the linguistic technologies of poetic translation analysis change as well. The theory of translation has paid little attention so far to the verse graphics, although the professional translators permanently face this problem in practice, especially when translating from non-cognate languages or languages with different writing systems. The modern poetic thinking, the relevant media and the visual culture create new possibilities for translation of classical, modern and contemporary texts. The transfer of visual information of the graphic design of the verse in translation may result in certain convergence of the languages of unrelated systems. The essay demonstrates that linguistic technologies emphasizing the verse graphics prove to be relevant in relation to the analysis of any modern poetic text and, moreover, to the theory and practice of poetic translation. |
