This article attempts to discuss the-deeply-believe-in-benevolence(確信為仁) as a religious aspect of Confucianism, not only trying to promote benevolence but also arguing that the-deeply-believe-in-benevolence can help who believe in Confucianism to understand the core value of Confucianism, more correctly. Without the-deeply-believe-in-benevolence, benevolence is only a professional term of Confucianism. It cannot encourage anyone, who would like to believe Confucianism and to promote his or her spiritual life. However, the-deeply-believe-in-benevolence is a kind of rational transcendence, which has achieved through political and intellectual practices in Chinese history. This article also claims that the-deeplybelieving-in-benevolence has become the core value of Chinese civilization, and it should be as the core value of Chinese higher education, especially for general education. |
