北宋張載（橫渠，1020－1077）的〈西銘〉在宋明理學中佔有重要的地位。原文甚精簡，實蘊含深廣豐富的義理。本文旨在展示〈西銘〉的內容及要旨，包括其「全體大用」的天道論，「理一分殊」的倫理學乃至工夫論，及其所蘊含的對孝道的看法，並以之與《孝經》作一比較，希望藉此顯示〈西銘〉在義理上的廣度、深度和獨特的含義。
Zhang Zai's 'Western Inscription' plays an important role in the philosophy of Song-Ming Neo-Confucianism. It is a refined piece of writing that contains broad and deep philosophical implications. This essay aims to present the content of 'Western Inscription' and its essential meanings, including its metaphysics, ethics and theory of filial piety. It also compares 'Western Inscription' with the Classic of Filial Piety. It is expected that through this essay the profundity and uniqueness of the philosophical meaning of 'Western Inscription' are revealed. |
