Since the 16th century, Macau has been a city that connecting with Mainland China and overseas due to its relative rich and diverse history, therefore, Macau possesses extremely precious historical documents that collected by government, individuals, as well as from worldwide, which has demonstrated Macau's extensive contacts to the world. On March 9 of 2010, the archives and materials of the Macao Diocese from the 16th to 19th centuries were added to the UNESCO Asia- Pacific Memory of the World Register, thus more expectations for better management and a better use of the resources are coming from the society. This paper has tried to introduce the general archives situation and digitization process in Macau. In addition, the paper also discusses on the future development of integrated documentary management. |
