Virtual Archives Implementation

本文旨在瞭解建立虛擬檔案館，系統應具備之功能架構及範圍。虛擬檔案館包括館舍的虛擬化、館藏的虛擬化、服務的虛擬化、使用者的虛擬化、管理者的虛擬化及應用環境的虛擬化。研究方法藉由搜集國內外已經完成的虛擬實境相關技術、虛擬檔案館、博物館或水族館之建立經驗、規劃成本、技術發展及相關商品化設備等。參酌系統分析方法論，由資料流內容及性質，定義國家檔案館可能之資訊服務及相關資料物件，從而了解虛擬館藏的規劃及呈現方式，藉由選用適合之相關技術特性及物件導向作業平台規劃，配合檔案管理未來可能實際館藏內容，進行虛擬檔案館功能可行性規劃，及訂定發展優先順序，並建立虛擬環境應用發展之願景。

The purpose of the article aims to discuss what Virtual Archives would be like in National Archives Administration and the related technologies we used. Virtual Archives virtualizes different aspects of services in the Archives, which include building, holdings, services, users, archivists, and working environment. Our virtual online services related experiences were extracted by collecting virtual reality technologies, virtual archives online exhibits, virtual museums and virtual aquariums. System analysis methodologies were used to define major objects in National Archives, and then to design all features in Virtual Archives. We intended to perform a feasibility planning for Virtual Archives implementation, to set up the priorities of development over suitable technologies with an object-oriented platform, and to create a vision for a virtual application development environment for National Archives.
