The purposes of this study were to understand the hazy rate of patient braceletidentification and its related factors in terms of the aspects of patients and theircaregivers. The one-day survey (September 10, 2004) was implemented in a medicalcenter; observers went to the inpatients' bedside to collect data with a structuredlist. The results revealed that the hazy rate reached 20% and the main factors thatcaused haziness were days of wearing and whether a protective sleeve was put onthe bracelet. To prevent the haziness of bracelet identification, the medical centerhas adapted the policy of putting sleeves on bracelet for every inpatient. |
