Archives are the accumulation of history and culture. They are records of the thoughts and actions of humanity across the ages-the documentary traces of the knowledge and experiences that a society has gained in its progression towards civilization. The use of archives in culture and education has developed predominantly through archive exhibitions, propagation and application, so as to satisfy the interests of the public's''right to know'', in this unique form of public property-archives. This country's Archives Act was promulgated on December 15, 1999, and came into effect on January 1, 2002.
