Evaluation of Insect and Mold Control in Paper-based Archives

檔案蟲菌的處理，常用的有化學法、生物法及物理法。國內常用的化學燻蒸劑約其棒因含溴化甲烷會破壞臭氧層而遭禁用，因此本文重新評估其他燻蒸劑如幫家淨、好達勝與國外文化資產燻蒸使用之硫醯氟的殺蟲除黴及對材質影響的相關特性，生物法也具有其發展潛力，另也說明物理法中的低溫冷凍法、低氧法、加馬射線照射法相關使用特性，以作為日後檔案管理人員選擇之參考。上述化學法及物理法只是一種知識，必須透過一套作業流程來達到免除蟲黴危害之目的。

Chemical, biological and physical control measures are used to deal with pest and mold problems in archives. In Taiwan, Ekibon®is prohibited because it contained methyl bromide which can deplete the ozone layers in the atmosphere. Other fumigants, such as Bunganon®, Phostoxin®and Vikane®, and physical methods involving freezing, anoxic and gamma-irradiation are discussed and evaluated in this paper. Biological methods could have potential use. The information in this text could be used as a reference for archives manager. The methods discussed must be executed using a treatment process before they become successful in insect pest and mold control.
