Laser vision correction (LVC), which is adopted to treat myopia, has been recognized as the most effective procedure to treat low to moderate myopia. However, it can only resolve people's inconvenience of wearing glasses or contact lenses. It cannot prevent or cure the pathologic changes of retina which come from the high myopia at al1. Therefore, preventing myopia and the increasing of the myopia degree are the most important goals of the myopia preventing. This kind of operation includes photorefractive keratectomy (PRK) and laser in situ keratomileusis (LASIK). Each has it's own benefits in the result of treatment. After reading several related references , the author started to generalize some LVC conceptions, such as the risk, benefits, and results , even the substitution of above treatments in order to offer appropriate assistance to patients being in consideration of receiving the LVC. |
