As the emphasis shift to therapeutic medical field, a severe latent cancer symptom, malignant fungating wound, has become problematic and challenging for both the patients and their family members. This incurable malignant fungating wound comes along with malodors, possible infections, exudation, haemostasis, and tremendous physical pains experienced by the patients. In addition, malignant fungating would create social isolation for the patients by having social stigma, including inevitable heavy malodors and unpleasant rotten skin appearance. The complication of this incurable wound becomes a challenging task for the suffering patients. The purpose of this article is to provide insightful information and better understandings on malignant fungating wound for the medical professionals, so that patients will be able to receive better cares and needed attentions. |
