The purpose of this study was to understand the difference of health-promoting life styles among clinical nurses and student nurses. Related factors such as socialdemography, health conception, self-efficacy, and perceived health status were analyzed. A descriptive study design was chosen, and data was collected by self-reported questionnaires that include: Health-promoting lifestyle profile, Health conception scale, Self-rated abilities for health practice scale and General health perception sub-scale. The number of subjects were 547, consisting of 280 persons of clinical nurses and 267 student nurses. Data was analyzed with descriptive statistics: t-test ANOVA and Pearson's product-moment correlation. Result of this study include: 1. The scores of exercise and health responsibility sub-scale were the lowest in clinical nurses and student nurses, and between them more different were the development of relationship and the safety in working place. 2. The situation of living, health-promoting lessons, personal health conception, self-efficacy of health behavior and perceived health status were variables significantly related with health-promoting life styles and the self-efficacy of health behavior, having the strongest correlation. According to this study, we suggest to enhance the program of health-promoting lessons at the working place and school. |
