Hearing impaired students experience learning through outdoor environmental education, interact with peers, and cultivate a sense of beauty. They not only recog-nize the living environment, but also use the senses to perceive and interact with them. The purpose of this study was to investigate the participation of the national junior high school hearing-impaired students in the environmental education of Taichung Park. Do you know the story about the Taichung Park in the past and the present? Is the behavior of the performance and the perception of the park limited by its own hearing impairment? This study explores the gaze generated by the hearing-impaired students on the environ-ment. Students are required to record their cognitive maps and photographs to record the Taichung Park they know, and interview students and teachers to participate in five hear-ing-impaired students. The findings found(1) Cognitive maps and photographed records reflect the hearing-impaired students in Taichung Park, which are related to environmen-tal cognition for construction, nature, historical stories, and geographical environment. (2) Through field visits, the hearing-impaired students can connect the building with the historical stories to establish environmental knowledge, and have the willingness to intro-duce them in spoken language. (3) In the process of participating in outdoor environmen-tal education, the hearing-impaired students believe that the use of auxiliary equipment-electronic ear or hearing aid can help them to capture sound faster in the environment. |
