The purpose of this study was to investigate the current state of the HPM-integrated lessons in junior high school of Taiwan's theses and dissertations. This study adopted content analysis approach. By investigating 148 theses and dissertations ranging from 1999 to 2020, the study conducted a holistic analysis in terms of the trend in the change of quantity, research topics, and HPM-integrated lessons. As a result, 58 theses on ''History of Mathematics into Teaching'' with complete teaching plans or working sheets, 36 theses on ''Textbooks related to History of Mathematics'' containing relevant historical materials, and ''Inquiry into texts and materials related to mathematics'' for 54 articles. In terms of countries for research on texts related to the history of mathematics, China is still the main subject, while the European history of mathematics is the least. Exception of the historical figures and work studies, there are 21 theses of HPM-integrated lessons for the elementary school, 36 for the junior high school, and 37 for the senior high school. There are a total of 24 mathematics units for the junior high school, 11 of which with complete teaching plans and working sheets, accounting for 45.83% of all units , and the Pythagorean theorem at 8th grade is the most. Combined with the ''Textbooks related to History of Mathematics'', there are 14 units were developed. |
