Many studies have reported that good interaction during learning process can stimulate students' positive learning attitude, hence improve learning performance. Due to the demand of flexible learning and the mature development of information communication technology, online synchronous interactions with audio/video become very feasible. This study developed a blended synchronous learning environment by integrating physical classroom and cyber synchronous classroom; such that teachers and students can choose any locations to attend classes at the same time to get the benefit of real-time interaction. Based on the theory of transactional distance, eight constructs were identified to explore real-time interaction activities in a blended synchronous learning environment. Finally, some suggestions were proposed to improve the real-time interaction in blended synchronous learning environments for teachers, students and managing staffs. |
