The sources of larval anchovy in Taiwan were surveyed and analyzed in the present study. Two hundreds and forty nine samples were collected from retailers by the local health officials and 20 samples were tested, by the method published by TFDA for animal-derived ingredients in foodsqualitative screening test. Among 249 samples in this survey, 2 samples (0.8%) failed to comply with the labeling requirement. On the other hand, 20 samples analyzed for animal constituents (fish constituents) conformed with the standards. Businesses with violations were penalized according to the provisions of ''Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation'', hence ensuring food sanitation and safety for consumers. |
