Given that the lack of comprehensive first aid skills could prolong the time taken to perform first aid and cause patients to suffer irreversible injuries, this project aimed to raise the first aid skill competency rate of the center’s nurses. A situation analysis revealed the following reasons behind the nurses’ low first aid skill competency rate: a lack of teamwork, a lack of practical first aid training involving situational simulations, an imperfect auditing system, a lack of familiarity concerning the location of items in an ambulance, and a lack of first aid reminder slogans. With the implementation of various measures (i.e., the implementation of in-service first aid education, the production of educational first aid situational simulation videos, the establishment of situational simulation models, the production of ambulance plans, and the placement of emergency response reminder cards), the nurses’ first aid skill competency rate was raised from 68.8% to 93.8%. Through the implementation of training methods involving situational simulations, and by improving the first aid and teamwork skills of the center’s nurses, the center was able to increase the quality of its first aid services and provide safer medical care for itspatients.
