It is claimed that the present geological era should be renamed Anthropocene in order to a best-fit scenario how human impacts have reshaped the terrestrial ecology. One of the leading concerns of the Century is that of global urbanism, which encompasses the social, economic and environmental dimensions suffered by a rapid transmutation of habitations; plagued by an overuse of energy and resources, pollutions and carbon emission that menace the Earth. For the author, ecological urbanism can be regarded as a solution for the planetary crisis and threat. In essence, it means that people have to think carefully about how they conceptualize cities. Eco-cities, Sustainable Neighborhoods, Low Carbon Communities, Regenerative Buildings and are all specific forms of response to render our habitat more ecological. As the basic unit of cities, an urban community can be entrusted as an ideal module to progress from conceptualizing to operationalizing. In this respect, the aims of this study are to figure out: how to translate “ecology” as a solution for Earth, which is facing the struggle of an unbalanced growth in urban development? How to re- orient the community as a socio-ecological unit towards maintaining and creating a livable and sustainable homeland?.
