In the context of globalization, foreign language universities are putting more and more efforts on the education of integrated talents - students with interdisciplinary knowledge. Keeping enhancing the quality of language teaching, the Department of French in Shanghai International Studies University also provides exchange programs for a large number of students, in order to equip them with professional knowledge other than linguistics. However, though these students are able to meet the language requirements of Campus France and capable of attending lessons taught in French, they still encounter many other difficulties during their study abroad. What are the reasons behind? How to overcome this problem? With these questions, we offer a new course called French language and cultures in Francophone Universities based on the concept and theory of French for University purposes, in hope to help the students better adapt to the education in francophone universities and improve their study efficiency and results.
