For past 30 years, the achievement goal theory of social cognitive theory has been an important focus of the achievement motivation and behavior literature. Till today, most studies applied 2×2 achievement goal as the foundation to explore achievement motivation (Witkow & Fuligni, 2007). However, debate on theory conceptualization of the 2×2 achievement goal remains. Recently, Elliot, Murayama & Pekrun (2011) re-examined and re-defined the achievement goal theory, and construct a 3×2 achievement goal model. The 3×2 achievement goal was preliminary supported in education context. Hence, current study tried to review related literature to elevate the comprehension of 3×2 achievement goal. Lastly, the study tried to further explore the potential application, for the references to future study. |
