The study aims to understand the implementation and categorization of physical education (PE) courses in the midst of colleges and analyze the difficulties the colleges have encountered while they are executed. The results are as following: 1. There are 63% of athletic departments in colleges belong to first-level unit, the others are subsidiary departments which subordinate to the office of academic affairs; 2. In a decade, PE courses which were regulated as the required in junior during 2005 have been, in 2014, adjusted to become required when the students enter to the sophomore; 3. In a decade, competitive sports remain the most among PE courses; the number of health and fitness courses, however, has increasingly risen. On the other hand, outdoor classes tend to descend gradually; 4. The organization of athletic department are in fettle, being able to raise more funds to make the administrations bolster the PE activities periodically; 5. Due to the reduction in the funds, it leads to the less amelioration of venues; also, caused by the downsize in teachers, attention should be paid to the shortage of human resources in offering PE curriculum in adequate quantity. |
