The World Games held in Kaohsiung in 2009 brought the long-quiet water-skiing in Taiwan back to the spotlight. The authority needs to take into serious consideration about how to make this water sport that attracts 30 million participants develop in Taiwan. Starting from literature reviews and inducing the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats of this sport in Taiwan, this paper hopes to provide suggestions on promoting the water-skiing via the strategic analysis: (1) to open up the water preservation area appropriately; (2) to tie in with sport tourism; (3) to connect with school education and (4) to nurture professional coach.
