“Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases”(傷寒論)is an important scripture in Chinese Medicine and plays an important role in Kampo Medicine. Dr. Tsung-Ming Tu, the first medical doctor of the history of Taiwan, is the father of modern medicine in Taiwan and a pioneer of Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine. Most researches on Dr. Tsung-Ming Tu target the emphasis on his contribution in his Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine research and education, rare pay attention to his conception of “Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases”. Thus, this research will discuss Dr. Tsung-Ming Tu’s conception of “Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases”. Due to this research, we found that Dr. Tu construct his own conception of “Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases” from Kampo Medicine because the condition of Chinese Medicine education is deficient that time. And the result of this, make Dr. Tu’s conception of “Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases” lack of necessary theories of Chinese Medicine, and become the correspondence of syndromes and formulas. This feature limits Dr. Tu developing his own unique and deep conception of “Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases”. But, through Dr. Tu’s point of view to “Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases”, we found objectivity and scientificity toward it. And this may imply us, Dr. Tu’s most significant contribution to “Treatise on Cold Damage Diseases” is promoting it in the Integrated Chinese and Western Medicine research and education. |
