The unique characteristic of computer makes it easy for internet browsers to reproduce information, no matter it is text, graphs, audio or video; as easy as one click on the mouse, one can obtain the information easily and rapidly without any difficulty. However, the following consequences are the violation of others' copyright, which makes the issue of software piracy increase significantly. Majority of university students use computer daily, thus they are also the group of people that encounter software piracy issues the most. Therefore to study the factors of copyright violation, to provide proper courses and study lead by instructors, to correct the wrong attitudes and behaviors of software piracy, are the critical issues of university education for students. This study is to understand the behavior of software piracy of university students, to further discuss how environmental and personal factors have effects on the behavior, in order to have better understanding of what kind of role the environmental and personal factors plays in the behaviors of software piracy, and established a model. The results are as following: 1. The peers' attitudes of software privacy will positively influence university students' pirate software behaviors. 2. Personal computer capability will positively influence university students' software piracy behaviors. 3. Personal ethical computer self-efficacy will negatively influence university students' software piracy behaviors. 4. Personal copyright cognition will negatively influence university students' software piracy behaviors. 5. Personal negative ethical attitudes will positively influence university students' software piracy behaviors. 6. Established a modify model of university students' software piracy behaviors. |
