The scope of the study focused on the geographical characteristics of the “mountain-plain-sea” of the Itoshima Peninsula mainly because Taiwan has similar environment and scale, and assumed that interactions among the hypothetical environmental characteristics were high. The study found that agriculture, forestry and fisheries jointly support the sustainable use of Satoyama, it also found that the problems of forestry economy caused the gap of sustainable use, and resulted in the loss of the current social and ecological links. The forestry crisis is also a turning point, by promoting the participation and cooperation of relevant rights and interests, as well as the formation of a new co-management system, the sustainable use of natural resources will be maintained.
