The concept of “Web 2.0” is more popular in recent years and refers to a perceived new generation of web-based communities and services. Advocates of the concept think it provides a relatively new approach to addressing librarian's concerns, especially when libraries face the challenges of the rich resources and rapid search engine service in Internet. So, most papers describe the technology infrastructure of Web 2.0 and suggest libraries to apply that to change their service. This article attempts to discuss the implementation of the idea of Web 2.0 from a different perspective, proposes that libraries should return to the essence of library and the knowledge need of the users in daily life, and suggests four kinds of heterogeneous knowledge services of libraries in Web2.0 age. |
