This essay analyzes three important institutions involved in early childhood education in Taiwan during the period of Japanese colonization. The kindergartens during the early period of Japanese colonization, including 'Tainan Guandi Temple Kindergarten' and 'Private Taipei Kindergarten', played an important role in the development of early childhood education in Taiwan. Hence, by exploring these two kindergartens, we can understand the initial development of early childhood education. In addition, throughout the period of Japanese colonization, the force of politics had a great impact on the development of early childhood education. One example of this phenomenon is 'The Japanese Clinic for Young Children.' According to the above-mentioned reasons, this essay analyzes three important institutions involved in early childhood education in Taiwan during the Japanese colonization, including 'Tainan Guandi Temple Kindergarten', 'Private Taipei Kindergarten' and 'The Japanese Clinic for Young Children.' Hopefully, this exploration will further elucidate the historical path of early childhood education in Taiwan during the period of Japanese colonization. |
