全球化浪潮與東亞區域發展

Globalization and the Development of East Asia

自從1950年代的民族自決風潮以來，位居東亞的大多數國家不僅重獲其國際獨立地位，在經濟發展方面亦有著極亮眼的表現，甚至還積極地加入了風起雲湧的「全球化」進程。在此，本文除簡單釐清所謂全球化的相關概念外，同時企圖由更長遠的「大歷史」脈絡與觀察角度，以及新航路發現、工業革命與帝國主義、解殖民化浪潮、科技革命與民主化等變數的分析，分階段重建東亞自16世紀以來，透過「歐洲化」或「資本主義化」形式以緩步加入現代「世界體系」的過程；一方面藉由對其間挑戰與回應的整理，釐清東西方間的實際互動關係，同時也希望以此對東亞的未來發展做出評估與預測。

Since the ''Wave of Self-determination'' in 1950s, not only did most East Asian countries regain their independent status, but they owned the distinguish economic achievements, and even attended the process of so-called ''Globalization''. In this paper, we will at first explain the interrelated ideas of ''Globalization'', then analyze how could East Asian countries use the forms such as ''Europeanization'' or ''Capitalization'' to join to the modern world system. We especially lay emphasis on the discovery of new seaway, the emergence of industrial revolution, the wave of de-colonialism, and the influence of technical revolution and the third wave of democratization. Of course, what the most important thing here is to predict the future of East Asia.
