This paper proposes a new method for teach ing -masenka, - mashoo and –mashooka, which Japanese learners often confuse. The y are regarded as grammatical items that the beginner-level students learn, for ex ample , a t extbook for elementary l evel ''Minna no NihongoⅠ '' (hereinafter, this is called ''Minna '') presents –masenka and -mashoo as invitation expressions in lessen 6 and –mashooka as offering ones in lessen 15. However, it is, for learners, difficult to distinguish these three items, and the y confuse their use. In this paper, we argue that learners' confusion is attributed to problems of the textbook and teaching, and correspondence and difference between Japanese and Chinese. Moreover, taking ''Minna'' for example, we attempt to propose a method of differentiating the use and clarif ying the agent of -masenka, - mashoo and -mashooka . |
