This paper analyzes how place identity is constructed by the literary topographies, as well as explains the formation of the subjectivity of Hong Kong literature from 1980s to 1990s in Lu Wei-luan's Hong KongLiterary Walk. The work Hong Kong Literary Walk is written and edited by Lu Wei-luan (Xiao Si). It is presented as an anthology of topographical literature.Scholars generally agree the importance of Hong Kong Literary Walk carries the pertinence to the education of literary history, but it has yet to be analyzed in terms of the Hong Kong literary history. This paper argues that Lu wrote Hong Kong Literary Walk from 1980s to 1990s and shaped the subjectivity of Hong Kong literature by mapping literary topographies of the modern Chinese writers in Hong Kong, including Cai Yuan-pei, Lu Xun, etc.She put the modern Chinese writers into the plot of Hong Kong literary history and showed the difficult situation of local scholars with the absence of Hong Kong literary history which has been widely accepted by them. |
