Chinese thought and culture may be said to be based on the philosophies of Daoism, Confucianism, the I Ching and Buddhism. In a solemn atmosphere of revering and worshiping Laozi, Confucius, and Buddha, Guiguzi's contribution to Chinese culture is almost ignored and forgotten by Chinese descendants. Against this background, this study investigates the Guiguzi (can be interpreted as The Art of Speaking, Listening, and Silence) in order to understand its connections with the I Ching, Dao De Jing, Zhong Yong, and the Liou Zu Tan Jing (Platform Sutra of the Sixth Patriarch). Since there has been relatively little research on the Guiguzi, it is important to make its contents better known. In particular, this study evaluates the crisscross study of the Zong Heng Jia (school of vertical and horizontal alliances), beginning with the meaning of ''囗 wei'', which means ''to surround''. |
