Local plant leaves after calcination were added into glaze formulations for ceramic crafts to create unique local cultural products. This study used rice stalks, weeds, bell fruit leaves and camphor leaves sampled from Pingtung country. The study 1. experimented with ash glaze formulations,2. explored how grass-wood ash influences offset direction of the original glaze formulation, and 3. analyzed color contents of ash glaze. The Tri-axial Phase Diagram experimental method of glaze formulations was used with 138 ash glaze formulations by two steps. The findings were as follows.1. 63 successful Pingtung ash glaze formulations were obtained. 2. The original glaze formulation had an incremental offset to Fuhu feldspar after adding ash. 3. The hues of Pingtung' plant ash glaze are white (W) and yellow-green (0YW), high brightness 7.5N and 8.5N, and low saturation 1S and 2S. Multiple colors and glaze effects can be obtained by combining Pingtung' plant ash glaze and mental oxides as colorants. |
