The purpose of this research is to study the influences of foreign students’ learning difficulties on a university campus in Taiwan. The foreign students are from India and are here to pursue their academic degrees with an Industry - University cooperation program. Results are used accordingly to improve curriculum planning and facilities to achieve a more friendly and efficient Chinese training program. The questionnaires were completed twice by the freshman and the sophomore classes, one at the beginning of the spring semester, and the second time at the end of the fall semester. Findings of this study are: most students are interested in Chinese learning and study hard; although the teachers are not experienced in teaching foreigner Chinese, students are satisfied with teaching schedule and skills; regarding the influences of Chinese learning, teachers are the most important factor and internet is the next one; Chinese writing, pronunciation, and listening are difficult. |
