In 2018, a total of 398 foodborne disease outbreaks were reported in Taiwan, with 4,614 cases and zero death toll. Most outbreaks occurred in February. Norovirus was identified as the most dominant identified etiology agent, while cooked composite foods (including meal boxes) were the most dominant identified vehicles. The analysis of the circumstance of foodborne disease outbreaks in Taiwan, could be served as a reference to prevent foodborne disease outbreaks, and to propagate hygiene education in the future, and thus to jointly maintain a safe and hygienic eating environment jointly. |
