For strengthening the hygiene and safety of food and improving the three-tier quality control system in our country, Taiwan Food and Drug Administration declared the regulation on September 20, 2018 according to The Act Governing Food Safety and Sanitation. The regulation required the qualified food businesses to build a food safety monitoring plan and set up mandatory independent testing. Taiwan Food and Drug Administration also implemented the “food businesses to implement first-tier quality control planning and counseling programs”. The project completed field counseling of 62 food importers and 330 training courses, one training lesson for local health department personnel, drafted 2 food safety monitoring plan guidelines for food importers and 2 sessions of expert meetings, with experts from food industry, academia and government to improve first-tier quality control regulations. |
