Survey on the Quality of Massage essential oil in Taiwan

為了解市售按摩精油之品質是否符合相關規範，食品藥物管理署（下稱食藥署）於107年進行市售按摩精油之品質監測計畫，抽得按摩精油30件，其中國產品12件、輸入品18件。檢驗項目包含甲醛、鄰苯二甲酸酯類塑化劑及禁用溶劑之檢測，檢驗結果6件按摩精油檢出甲苯（Toluene）；1件檢出苯（Benzene）及甲苯；1件檢出鄰苯二甲酸二（2-乙基己基）酯（Di（2-ethylhexyl）phthalate, DEHP）超過法規限量。其餘符合相關規範，調查結果提供主管機關行政管理參考。

In order to understand the quality compliance of commercial massage essential oils, the Food and Drug Administration conducted a quality surveillance program for commercial massage essential oils in 2018. Thirty massage essential oils were sampled. Among them, 12 were made in Taiwan while 18 were imported. The inspection items included formaldehyde, phthalates plasticizer and banned solvent. The surveillance results showed that toluene was detected in 6 massage essential oils, both benzene and toluene were detected in 1 massage essential oil, and DEHP was detected in 1 massage essential oil with the concentration exceeding the regulatory limits. The rest of the samples met the relevant specifications. The surveillance results were sent to related administrative authorities as references.
