The psychological research in the department of psychology at national taiwan university since 1948

The Department of Psychology in National Taiwan University which was established in 1948 by me is the only agency in the Republic of China to train those who want to be specialized in psychology, It is expanding rapidly and now has experimental laboratories, a departmental library, and an animal room. The teaching staff consists of five professors, one associate professor, and three lecturers. The Institute of Psychology, which is equivalent to graduate school in the United States, started in 1962. For students at the Department of Psychology and the Institute of Psychology, two degrees are offered: the Bachelor of Science and the Master of Science. The B. S. degree requires four academic years of two semesters each, with a thesis at the end of last year. Candidates for M. S. degree training in psychology are recruited by the examination from the graduates of the Department of Psychology. The training must be completed in a pericd of not less than two years and not more than four years. Written examination, a thesis, and an oral examination are required for the M. S. degree.
