This study aims to explore the dilemmas caused by an infant with severe hypoxic encephalopathy due to negligence. This case is dependent on life-sustaining treatment, and the parents face difficult decision-making among aggressive treatment, palliative care or withdrawal of life supports. Ethical and legal issues regarding withdrawing life supports due to parental negligence are controversial among medical professionals.
