海上女真──錢穆《國史大綱》史源考之一

Jurchen at Sea: An Inquiry into the Historical Sources of Qian Mu's A Brief History of China

本文注意到錢穆（1895－1990）《國史大綱》修訂版（1995）敘述女真人渡海攻打日本，但原版並無這段內容。本文考證，女真渡海的記載不見於傳統中國史籍，僅見於日本史籍；錢穆讀過藍文徵（1901－1976）於1953年發表的〈海上的女真〉後，才將海上女真的敘述加入《國史大綱》修訂版之中。錢穆的修改之舉，既反映《國史大綱》史源之豐富，又反映其重視歷史大勢的解釋，以及一定程度的民族意識。

In the revised edition of A Brief History of China, Qian Mu (1895-1990) depicts a naval assault on Japan by Jurchen which was omitted in the original edition. This article demonstrates that the Chinese historical records did not include this incident, while the Japanese historical records did. Only after reading Lan Wenzheng's Jurchen at Sea (1953) did Qian Mu add the incident to the revised edition of A Brief History of China. This modification not only highlights the wealth of sources on which A Brief History of China relies, but also the deep national consciousness of the author.
