The word 'shieng chi' in Taiwan, and the word 'youbi' in Japan are used every day at the present age of the 21st century. In Taiwan and Japan, when did it come to have the time perception of the week? When did Taiwanese begin to use 'shieng chi'? When did the Japanese begin to use ' youbi '? Do Taiwanese and Japanese have any differences in the time perception of 'day of the week'? The aim of this paper is to clarify the above-mentioned things from the viewpoint of Japanese language education in Taiwan. First of all, the start of 'shieng chi ' in Taiwan and the start of 'youbi ' in Japan will be considered. After that, the time perception seen from ' youbi ' will be analyzed through the examples. |
