不排斥亦不被吞噬的異文化受容之可能性

Is it possible to accept other cultures, without excluding them or being subjugated by them?

若以地球規模來衡量，東亞文化不能稱之為主流文化。在這全球化的時代，旁流文化不受容主流文化而能存續下去是不可能的。再加上人類「如果意欲發展自我的成就，就不應該吝於接受他人的成就。」此時，與其被強制接受異文化，主動地受容異文化顯得更為重要。在今日的地球村社會中，肯定文化的多樣性及混同性是健康的態度，能跨足多文化的人才需求也會日益漸增吧！

In this age of globalization dominated by the Western civilization symbolized by the English language East Asia is a minor factor, and we East Asians are obliged to respond to this challenge of the Other. It will be sound if we accept affirmatively “creoleness” of our present-day cultural situation. Men “with two legs” soundly grounded in his own culture and other culture will be needed everywhere in this world society.
