The purpose of the study was to investigate the effects of the mind-mapping instruction on the story article reading comprehension for three students with learning disabilities. The ABA design of single-case research was used in this study. The participants were three 8th graders with learning disabilities. The reading comprehension test, including vocabulary knowledge, surface text understanding, and inferential comprehension, was used to collect their reading comprehension ability. All data were analyzed using visual analysis, C statistic, and effect size. The main findings were as follows: (a) Mind mapping could enhance story article reading comprehension ability of junior high school students with learning disabilities. Some students with learning disabilities could maintain the effects. (b) Some students with learning disabilities could apply mind mapping in narrative reading comprehension. |
