Centers for Disease Control, R.O.C. (Taiwan) developed gay community-based organizations since 2010 with the cooperation of GLBT or HIV/AIDS non-profit organizations to reduce HIV incidence among gay men in Taiwan by providing innovative HIV prevention interventions for gay men or men having sex with men. However, the development of gay community-based organizations in the Western countries and in Taiwan are different. For recording the development of gay community-based organizations in Taiwan, the experiences of Gay Community Center Taipei (GCCT) is reviewed in this article. The origin and management of GCCT, and its relationships with Centers for Disease Control, R.O.C. (Taiwan), and gay communities were examined. Finally, some reflections and suggestions are provided. |
