National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium has become a certificated environmenteducation facility since December 20, 2012 based on Environmental Education Lawimplemented on June 5, 2011. This study is aimed to understand the relations amongexperiential teaching quality, teaching satisfaction and loyalty of participants in environmenteducation programs held in National Museum of Marine Biology and Aquarium from 2014 to2015. Based on the theory of Strategic Experiential Modules, five types were included assense, feel, think, action and relate. We found that the averaged value of type in feel is thehighest whereas that of the type in sense is the lowest. Our modules show that both of facets insense and in relate have significant impacts on teaching satisfaction and loyalty. This resultsuggests that educational activities can promote motivation in learning about the knowledge ofmarine life, leading to understanding the importance in conservation and taking action toprotect marine environments. The wonderful experience through the sensation in visual, auditory and tactile was shown the most inspiring to participants to understand the relevance ofhuman beings to the environment. It is suggested that enhancing the interesting content in bothauditory and tactile is the best way to improve the teaching satisfactions effectively. Promotingthe concept on the respect for life, developing interesting educational games and/or teachingauxiliary materials to enhance the wonderful learning experience in sensation by digitalmultimedia technology is the future goal in designing environmental education programs. |
