This paper aims to give an in-depth research into the principal's managing performance evaluation through meta-evaluation perspectives. The methods of research were literature analysis and interviews. School principal and teachers were selected to conduct an in-depth interview. The research findings are as follows: 1. Principal's managing performance evaluation process and result in general satisfy four criteria of meta-evaluation: effectiveness, feasibility, appropriateness, and normative. 2. Recommendation for improvements: strengthen evaluation committee's professionalism and timing for evaluation, flexibility of the evaluation indices; focus of school work that requires long-term development, enforce professional training of the evaluation committee; enhance evaluation skills, emphasis on data triangulation; improve the validity of the evaluation, and follow through with the evaluation results. At last, recommendations based on the conclusion of the research were provided to education bureau and principals. |
