There are three purposes in this study. First, review the existing cultural creative industry development and the status of the existing cultural characteristics and their value in Kaohsiung City. Secondly, use the SWOT to analyze the development of cultural creative industries; meanwhile, further examine the inadequacies of its cultural creative industry development. Finally, according the above results, bring up the directions of how to promote its cultural creative industries and plan the cultural creative industry park. This study finds that the heavy chemical industry in Kaohsiung City will continue to decline and its industrial restructuring and re-positioning are imperative. The cultural creative industries development is discussed with the business income and the number of companies. The result shows that the income and the number of companies of cultural creative industries are still concentrated mostly in northern Taiwan. However, the cultural creative industries in Kaohsiung City are still promising on condition that local characteristics can be implied in the eleven kinds of industries, with Kaohsiung becoming the development center of the cultural creative industries in southern Taiwan. By SWOT analysis, Kaohsiung City is a marine capital, characterized by having rivers, mountains, ocean and ports, which contributes to urban innovation and the development of cultural creative industries. Moreover, the city government has been cultivating the city aesthetics in recent years. If the public cultural aesthetics keeps raising, the cultural creative industries will develop as well. Secondly, according to the generalization of industrial analysis, we draw up the development strategies to creative economic for the city: the city government should establish a department responsible for the cultural creative industry to promote it, such as a cultural creative center. Last, we propose the planning of “cultural creative park” and “creative quarters”, which combines technology and innovation, takes a cluster effect, and becomes the radiation point of cultural creative industries in Kaohsiung metropolis. |
